Measurement of Program Quality

Measurement of Program Quality Sample ElementaryERC uses California Department of Education’s 12 Quality Standards for Expanded Learning in California as the basis for evaluating the quality of after school programs. Program quality may be measured through self-reflective interviews with site coordinators, staff or student surveys, student focus groups, activity observations, or interviews with school principals. Following data collection, ERC produces site-level program quality reports with numerical ratings for each quality standard, commendations for best practices, and recommendations for program improvement. After school program consortiums commonly use ERC’s program quality ratings and recommendations as part of a continual program improvement cycle.
