John Escalera, information technology director, has a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, a Master of Science degree in information security, and is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in computer science at Georgia Tech. He designs, programs, and supports custom software for ERC clients and administers databases for large-scale projects. Using procedures he designed, John extracts, transforms and loads student data for more than forty school districts, 1,000 schools, and over 1 million students annually. He developed and supports ERC's online after school management system (After School Manager), used by approximately 300 school sites and developed ERC's virtual time sheet, a cost-efficient system for recording employees' work time. His latest project is an online performance management tool to help school districts monitor their Local Control and Accountability (LCAP) plans. John makes life easier for ERC clients in program and data management, while providing accountability tools that facilitate continual improvement.
